What Home Cleaning Services Do You Offer?

We plan the work and equipment around how your home is used, whether it is furnished and how much cleaning it needs.

Olur offers house cleaning services for apartments, residences and villas in Istanbul: regular, deep, empty-home, post-construction, additional and premium cleaning.

1. Regular Home Cleaning

Olur cleaner dusting a television

Routine cleaning for furnished homes in daily use: dusting, wiping surfaces, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, vacuuming and mopping. It removes everyday dirt and helps keep the home in order.

  • Recurring: Weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits.
  • One-off: A single visit with the same cleaning scope.

2. Deep Cleaning

In addition to routine cleaning, we thoroughly clean doors, skirting boards, radiators, window surrounds, high surfaces and accessible corners. Cleaning inside cupboards, fridges and ovens is included in the service.

3. Empty-Home Cleaning

We prepare unfurnished homes before or after a move, between tenants, or after a long period without use. This includes marks on floors and edges exposed when furniture is removed.

4. Post-construction Home Cleaning

Post-construction home cleaning prepares your home for occupation after building or renovation work. The standard service covers the final detailed clean, removing building dust, paint, plaster, mortar, tape and label residue. If bulky building waste needs to be collected, we arrange this alongside the final clean and charge for it separately.

5. Additional Services

These include windows, rug cleaning at a specialist facility, on-site carpet and sofa cleaning, and curtain care.

6. Premium Services

  • Steam cleaning: High-temperature water vapour cleans surfaces without added cleaning chemicals.
  • 3M ATP hygiene testing: We test for organic residue that may not be visible, then report the measurements taken before and after cleaning.

How Is a Home Cleaned?

Our cleaning process has seven steps: planning, clearing rubbish and clutter, dusting and wiping, cleaning frequently touched surfaces, vacuuming, mopping and a final check. We work from high surfaces downwards and from cleaner areas to dirtier ones:

  1. Planning and preparation: We assess dirt levels, surface types and priorities, ventilate the home, and prepare the products and equipment needed.
  2. Rubbish and clutter: We collect rubbish and move light items that obstruct access to surfaces.
  3. Dusting and wiping: Starting at higher surfaces, we dust with a dry microfibre cloth, then wipe furniture and other surfaces with a damp cloth. Separate colour-coded cloths are used in the kitchen and bathroom to limit the transfer of dirt.
Wiping a kitchen worktop with a cloth and cleaning product
  4. Frequently touched surfaces: We clean door handles, light switches, taps, cupboard handles and remote controls. Disinfection follows cleaning where illness or a specific hygiene need calls for it.
  5. Vacuuming: We vacuum dust and crumbs from floors, edges and corners with a HEPA-filtered vacuum.
  6. Mopping: We mop from the furthest point towards the door, replacing dirty water and changing the mop pad as needed.
  7. Final check: We check surfaces for marks and streaks and floors for dust and mop residue. We return light items to their places and review the completed work against our checklist.

Note: These steps are based on Olur's standard products, machines and equipment.

Safety note: We select products for the surface and type of dirt, and follow the instructions on the label. Cleaning chemicals must not be mixed.

Our methods help protect surfaces and reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

Where Should Home Cleaning Start?

Start in the least-used, least-dirty room, often a bedroom, then move on to living areas. The kitchen and bathrooms usually come later. The order can change with the layout, daily use and condition of each room.

Cleaner vacuuming a bedroom carpet with a HEPA-filtered vacuum

Working from cleaner to dirtier areas helps avoid carrying dirt back onto cleaned surfaces. Grease, limescale or dried stains may need a suitable pre-treatment. Allow the contact time stated on the product label while working elsewhere.

Clean a balcony before the room it opens onto, as dirt may be carried indoors. Leave the bathroom used for rinsing equipment and disposing of dirty water until those tasks are finished. Clean entrance and corridor floors after work requiring access through them is complete.

What Does a Daily Home Cleaning Checklist Include?

A daily checklist focuses on preventing everyday dirt and clutter from building up. The following tasks help maintain a home between more thorough cleans.

How Are Home Cleaning Prices Set in Istanbul?

The price of a day's home cleaning in Istanbul depends on your home's size and condition, the agreed scope, the time needed and the number of cleaners. Your service plan, appointment time and additional services also affect the total. We confirm the final price with you before the appointment.

To see current 2026 rates and calculate an estimate for your home, visit our home cleaning prices page (in Turkish).

Do You Use Standard Floor Areas for Each Home Type?

Yes. Homes with the same number of rooms can differ in size, so we use standard floor-area ranges when planning the service.

Standard Floor Areas by Home Type
Home TypeStandard Floor Area
Studio / 1+025–45 m²
1 bedroom + living room40–75 m²
2 bedrooms + living room70–110 m²
3 bedrooms + living room100–160 m²
4 bedrooms + living room140–200 m²
5+1 and largerIndividual assessment

Homes above these ranges require a separate assessment of cleaning time, team size and total price.

Who Provides Cleaning Products and Equipment?

For regular home cleaning, our team brings the cleaning products. You provide the machines and equipment. If you would like our team to supply them, an additional 1,250 TL applies.

For deep, empty-home and post-construction cleaning, as well as additional services, we provide all the machines, equipment and products required.

Before your appointment, we agree which equipment will be used and who will supply it. Please tell us about allergies, pets and delicate surfaces so we can choose suitable products and equipment.

Do You Offer Evening Home Cleaning?

Yes, we offer evening cleaning between 19:00 and 23:00. The scope and duration are agreed with you before the appointment.

Evening appointments carry a 30% surcharge on the standard cleaning price.

How Long Does House Cleaning Take?

Cleaning time depends on home size, the agreed work and the number of cleaners. With one cleaner, regular cleaning may take around 3–4 hours for a 1-bedroom home with a living room, or 6–8 hours for a 3-bedroom home with a living room. More furniture or accumulated dirt can increase the time needed.

Estimated Cleaning Times by Home Type
Home typeCleaning time
Studio / 1+02–3 hours
1 bedroom + living room3–4 hours
2 bedrooms + living room4–6 hours
3 bedrooms + living room6–8 hours
4 bedrooms + living room7–9 hours

These are estimates for regular home cleaning with one cleaner. With more cleaners, tasks can be shared and the time spent in your home may be shorter. The team and duration are planned around the size, service type, furniture and total workload.

Deep, empty-home and post-construction cleaning are assessed separately according to the tasks and total working time required. Olur shares the estimated duration with you before the visit.

How Often Should I Have My Home Cleaned?

The frequency of regular cleaning depends on how much the home is used, how many people live there and how quickly dirt builds up.

  • Weekly cleaning: Suitable for busy households, larger families, or homes with children, pets or people with allergies.
  • Fortnightly cleaning: Often sufficient for one or two people in a moderately used home where daily tidying is maintained.
  • Monthly cleaning: An option for a lightly used home, a single occupant or a home with lower cleaning needs.

Different items and areas need different cleaning schedules. For example, we recommend changing bed linen at least every two weeks, and more often with pets, heavy sweating, illness or allergies.

Olur plans the frequency around how you use your home and the cleaning it needs.

How Do You Select Your Cleaners?

Olur assesses candidates for experience, reliability and practical skills. Of every 30 applicants, one completes our selection and training process and joins the team.

Cleaner steam cleaning a kitchen sink

Our selection process has four stages:

  1. Initial assessment and interview: We consider experience or willingness to learn, understanding of hygiene, communication, personal presentation and work discipline.
  2. Background and reference checks: We review successful candidates' identity and employment information, criminal record documents and previous work references.
  3. Training and trial cleaning: Training covers safe product use and dosage, equipment techniques, colour-coded cloths and methods for different surfaces. We draw on BICSc and ISSA CMI practices, then assess practical ability during a trial clean.
  4. Performance monitoring: After recruitment, we monitor performance through customer feedback, assessment forms and ratings.

What If My Cleaner Is Late or Does Not Arrive?

Keeping to the agreed time is part of our Appointment Time Guarantee. If your assigned cleaner cannot attend, we let you know and arrange a replacement subject to availability, or give priority to rescheduling your appointment.

The guarantee applies if your cleaner cannot attend, or arrives more than one hour late for a reason attributable to our company. You can then choose 35% off your next home cleaning or free cleaning for one sofa set.

Can I Book the Same Cleaner Each Time?

Yes. With recurring bookings, we prioritise requests to keep a cleaner you are happy with. Leave, illness or scheduling may mean we cannot guarantee the same person at every visit.

If your preferred cleaner is unavailable, we brief another experienced team member on your cleaning plan so the service continues to the same standard.

Do I Need to Be Home During Cleaning?

No. At the first visit, it can help to welcome the team and point out priorities or delicate surfaces, but this is optional.

If you stay home, please avoid walking into freshly cleaned rooms or onto wet floors.

If you will be out and the door needs locking, you can leave the key with a trusted neighbour or building security. The cleaner collects it on arrival, locks up after the visit and returns it to the same place.

Can You Clean a Home with Pets?

Yes. Cats, dogs, birds or fish do not prevent you from booking cleaning. Please tell us beforehand what pets you have, where they stay, how they react to strangers and whether they may escape through an open door.

Vacuum noise, open doors, wet floors and cleaning products can cause stress or pose a risk to pets. We recommend keeping them with you or in a secure area during the work.

Alongside regular cleaning, we focus on three tasks in homes with pets:

  • Pet hair removal: We collect hair from sofas, carpets and pet beds, and use a HEPA-filtered vacuum along skirting boards, beneath furniture and in upholstery seams.
  • Stain treatment: Food, mud, urine and vomit residue is blotted rather than rubbed. Suitable enzyme-based products may be used on organic stains, depending on the surface. Stains embedded in carpets or sofas may require a separately arranged cleaning service.
  • Odour removal: We clean and treat the source of pet odours rather than covering it with fragrance.

We use separate microfibre cloths around food and water bowls, litter trays and pet beds. Pets stay away from treated areas until surfaces are dry. We also take account of birds' sensitivity to cleaning products and do not spray products directly around aquariums.

What Happens If Something Is Damaged?

If an item is damaged during cleaning, we record what happened, inform you and start the resolution process.

We point out any existing damage or unsecured items before work starts and photograph them if needed. Please tell us about delicate, valuable or easily damaged belongings beforehand and, where possible, move them to a safe place.

Do You Clean Villas?

Yes, we clean villas in Istanbul. We plan each property individually, considering its floor area, levels, stairs, outdoor spaces, high ceilings and windows.

Villa cleaning may also include terraces, verandas, conservatories, pool surrounds, pantries, utility rooms, garages and outbuildings.

If roofs, roof terraces, exterior walls or exterior windows are included, we assess access and working conditions. A site visit may be recommended.

Do You Offer Garden Cleaning?

Yes. We offer seasonal or regular cleaning for gardens at villas, houses, apartment buildings and residential developments, as well as roof gardens. Depending on size and condition, we plan the following:

  • Collect and bag leaves, branches, loose soil and general garden waste
  • Sweep and wash paths, entrances, verandas and other hard surfaces
  • Clean garden furniture, barbecues, planters, railings and outdoor lights
  • Remove surface dirt from accessible parts of fences and garden walls

Lawn mowing, light pruning, weeding and plant care are available separately as garden maintenance.

Do You Clean Apartment Buildings and Shared Areas?

Yes. We offer one-off or recurring cleaning for apartment buildings and residential developments, including entrances, communal areas, lift cabins and doors, and accessible windows.

Cleaning an accessible exterior window at an apartment building

We sweep and mop stairs and landings, and dust railings, handrails and skirting boards.

Prices depend on the number of floors, size of the communal areas, condition and frequency of cleaning.
